Our Story
The Louise Nicholas Trust, established on 1st of July 2023, is dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence going through the Criminal Justice System and advocating for systemic change within the justice system.
Louise Nicholas, the namesake of the trust, is a well-known advocate and survivor who came forward with allegations of historical rape and abuse by police officers, sparking significant reforms in the handling of sexual violence cases in New Zealand.
The Trust provides resources, support, and guidance to survivors navigating the justice system and engages in community education to foster understanding and empathy around issues of sexual violence.
The trust is an independent organisation that works alongside Police and the Courts. The Louise Nicholas Trust is recognized for its significant contributions to policy reform, survivor support, and advocacy for respectful treatment of individuals affected by sexual violence.

Louise Nicholas is a renowned advocate for survivors of sexual violence in New Zealand, known for her unwavering commitment to justice and systemic change.
