Debbs Murray

Deputy Chair

Debbs Murray is a māmā of four, a nanny of seven and a wife.  Debbs is a victim survivor of family violence (FV), has used her voice of lived experience within her dedicated career in the family violence sector, having held a variety of government and non-government positions.   


Debbs a published author of her autobiography – ‘One Soul One Survivor’ and is the Founder and Director of ECLIPSE: Family Violence Services, that utilised the voice of lived experience of family violence and sectoral knowledge to develop and deliver specialist family violence training packages to frontline responders and practitioners. 


Debbs is deeply passionate about coercive control being recognised and appropriately positioned as a family violence tactic. Debbs aims to ensure the voice of lived experience is effectively utilised across the family violence sector and has a passion for identifying and addressing systemic deficiencies and structural inequity to equalise the healing platform for whanau experiencing violence, while increasing the workforce capability of our family violence frontline in Aotearoa, New Zealand. 


Debbs holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with a Psychology Major and Diplomas in Psychology, Child Psychology and Health and Human Behaviour.
