Layba Zubair

Board Member

Layba Zubair is a dedicated advocate and community organizer specializing in gender justice, sexual violence prevention, and legal reform.

She has lead national campaigns, including a call for Consent Law Reform that gathered over 12,000 signatures and influenced a Justice Select Committee recommendation. Her work spans grassroots activism, policy advocacy, and leadership within feminist and human rights spaces.


As a delegate to the 69th session of the UN commission on the Status of Woman in New York (CSW60), she has engaged in global discussions on gender equality and policy change.


Passionate about grassroots advocacy, she has volunteered with organisations such as HELP Auckland and Thursdays in Black to support survivors and challenge systemic injustices. She is proud to contribute to spaces that empower marginalised communities.
