Survivor Advocate

Ko Marotiri tōku maunga

Ko Mungahuni tōku awa

Ko Waiparapara tōku marae

Ko Ngāti Porou tōku iwi

Ko Ema-Lou tōku ingoa

Tēnā koe, my name is Ema-Lou Jones. I have been happily married for over 20 years and am a proud mum of four adult children, one of whom is whāngai.

I value every moment I can spend with my whānau and whakapapa back to Tokomaru Bay in Te Tairāwhiti.

I began volunteering with the Louise Nicholas Trust in late 2023, and in early 2025 I joined the team as a full-time staff member.

Prior to working with LNT, I supported individuals and whānau from all walks of life, including tamariki, rangatahi, and kaumātua, through community events, programmes, education, and residential support.

My passion lies in advocating for survivors, supported by my own lived experience within the justice system. Supporting survivors to reclaim their voices, share their stories, and begin their healing journey is a role I feel deeply privileged and honoured to be part of.
